Tackling interdisciplinarity early: transforming scientific expertise into global citizenship

A developed and fuller version of the conference paper presented in 2014 at Michigan State University* was presented at the National Interdisciplinary Curriculum Group meeting.

With representatives from 21 Russell Group universities this group meets biannually to discuss the challenges of interdisciplinary curriculum development in higher education, with one or two keynote presentations and discussion sessions.

Chaired by Professor Peter Lawler and hosted by Carl Gombrich at UCL, this meeting also heard from Professor Catherine Lyall, University of Edinburgh about her HEA funded work on interdisciplinary provision in higher education.
